After we will have visited these contemporary architectural wonders, we will go back to past, namely the Middle Ages, to visit the Church of St. Frane; the oldest Dalmatian church built in the Gothic style. The sacristy is important for Croatian history because on February 18, 1358 the Peace Treaty of Zadar was signed, by which the Venetians renounced their pretensions to Dalmatia. Our medieval walk will then be continued to the St. Anastasia Cathedral, a three-nave Romanesque building, which is also the largest church in Dalmatia. Then we go to Roman times; we visit Zadar Forum, the main square during the Roman times which was the centre of all activity at the time. There you can see The Archbishop’s Palace and St. Donat’s church - acunique building in Europe which dates back to the 9th century, and is the most famous monument and symbol of the city.
